Vision Statement

To create partnerships and provide mutually beneficial resources for the UIW community and sponsored ministries to support, learn and benefit from the interaction between the CCVI Ministries and the University of the Incarnate Word.

Strategic Goals

  • In creating partnerships think first of the Sponsored Ministries.
  • Increase the number of initiatives between UIW and the CCVI Ministries.
  • Increase the number of students, faculty and administrators involved with the CCVI Ministries.
  • Create future partnerships that would benefit UIW, the high schools and all students.
  • Create an awareness and celebrate that the UIW community is a part of a larger network of ministries.
  • Help UIW to fulfill its Mission and have a greater impact by working with the Congregation’s Sponsored Ministries.

Key Objectives Achieved

Select programs and opportunities were enacted as a result of collaboration across multiple ministries:

  • Spirit Reach Project: Work and follow-up meetings continue regarding the “contemplative ” UIW, Headwaters, and CCVI Congregation jointly secured funding from Bexar County to build a walking trail connecting Brackenridge Park to UIW, CCVI, and the Headwaters.
  • Created a “friendly” premises agreement among UIW, the Village, Headwaters, and CCVI Generalate. The agreement provides understandings and mutual protections for our adjacent properties as it relates to internal guests and public visitors who transgress our campuses, which will become more acute once the Sprit Reach is completed.
  • MOUs were established for tuition discounts and scholarships with each CCVI ministry for the 2022 admissions cycle. This effort continues.
  • CCVI/Hilton Grant financially supported 20 UIW students to attend the annual Oaxaca Health Mission “Ferias de Salud” that is staffed in part by an interdisciplinary group of UIW HP students and faculty. One Sister also attended the mission trip.
